Anticus was founded in 2005 when it acquired the SIXT rent a car franchise for Slovenia. In a record braking time, Anticus expanded its operations in Slovenia and SIXT brand became a synonym for short-term, long-term, and business car rentals. In 2010 the company decided to expand to Croatia, where Anticus operates through its subsidiary. The decision to expand operations proved to be right, as the Croatian market today contributes most of Anticus Group's revenues.

Anticus Group has 150 employees and close to 30 business units in Slovenia and Croatia. The SIXT brand has a market share above 25% in Slovenia and Croatia, which it seeks to further increase and strengthen its position on both markets.

Anticus operates independently in Adventura Investments Group and separately from other companies within travel and mobility pillar. According to the set plans, Anticus Group will have over 9500 vehicles at peak season of 2025, while the groups revenue will more than double compared to plans for 2021 and exceed EUR 85 million.
